Worship
The Vows of Church Membership
We believe in one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and we confess Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord.
We promise to join regularly with our fellow Christians in worship on the Lord's Day.
We promise to be faithful in reading the Bible and in prayer.
We promise to give a fitting proportion of our time, talents and money for the Church's work in the world.
We promise, depending on the grace of God, to confess Christ before men and women, to serve Him in our daily work and to walk in His ways all the days of our lives.

Sunday Services
Sunday Morning Service
Our main act of worship is our Sunday morning family service, which starts at 11am. The service is traditional but relaxed in style, with music provided by our organist and choir. Our welcome team will greet you at the door and will be happy to help with any enquiries or questions you may have. You are welcome to sit wherever you would like in the sanctuary.
Children join in the first part of the service and then go to Sunday School which meets in our church halls. There is also a crèche for younger children every week. For more information, see our Children & Young People page.
We generally sing from a hymnbook and large print copies of the words are available from the welcome team. There is an induction loop for anyone who is hard of hearing – hearing aids should be switched to “T”.
If you are visiting with us we would be delighted if you would sign our visitors’ book on the side table in the main vestibule.
You are very welcome to join us for tea or coffee in the church halls both before and after the service so that we can get to know you.
Evening Service
On the second Sunday of each month between September and June we have an evening service starting at 6.30 pm and lasting about 45 minutes, which is contemporary in style. Music is provided by a variety of musicians and we explore different ways of communicating the gospel using readings and drama. We finish with tea and coffee and a chat.
Communion Services
We celebrate Communion at our 11am service and also at 3pm on the first Sunday of October and February and the second Sunday of May. (home communion is available; please contact the Minister). We also occasionally celebrate communion in a more intimate style at our evening service.
Special Services
At Giffnock South we are building a tradition of midweek morning services during Lent and Advent. Details can be found here. We also hold a Service of Remembrance on 11th November in the Sanctuary at 10.55 am. At the beginning of Advent each year we hold a Blue Christmas evening service which gives an opportunity to remember those we have loved and lost.
Sacraments
The Sacrament of Baptism is administered by arrangement with the Minister.
The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is celebrated at 11am and 3pm on the first Sunday of October and February, and the second Sunday of May.
In special cases, this sacrament may be received in your own home. Those desiring Communion at home are asked to contact the Minister.
Intimations
Intimations are included as part of the weekly Order of Service sheet and should be handed in to the Church Office by 11am on Thursday at the latest.
First Communicants
After attendance at classes of instruction, Communicants are admitted to full membership of the Church at a morning service.
Classes for Communicants meet as announced in the Sentinel and from the pulpit.
