We are pleased to have long established links with our local and global community.

In Harmony Community Choir
The Community Choir meets on Tuesday evenings from 7- 9pm, when we sing, learn music and enjoy the company of others who enjoy singing together as part of a choir. We always stop for a blether and refreshments. Membership is open to people who are in third year at school or older – and there is no upper limit! We do have a waiting list, but will always make space for men and anyone under 25.
For further information, contact: firstname.lastname@example.org or check out their website.
“Sing Well” is an initiative which promotes holistic wellbeing through music. We meet once a month to sing together, enjoy tea, cake and each other’s company.
Sing Well resumes on Wednesday the 14th of September at 2pm.
Pollokshaws and Giffnock South Parish Churches have been twinned for over 15 years; in this time we have created lasting friendships. We are glad to join one another in church and social gatherings.
The twinning arrangement has allowed for a symbiotic relationship in which both church congregations have gained a great deal.
Together with Williamwood and Greenbank Parish Churches, and Williamwood High School, we have a long established partnership with the CCAP church community in Ekwendeni, northern Malawi.
“Kwenderana” meaning working together in Chichewa has formed a fellowship that spans across the continents.
In the last few years we have undertaken regular visits to each other’s communities and church families, which we look forward to reinstating as travel reopens.
Some of our most recent projects have included the building of a maize mill and new classrooms. We are pleased to be able to meet regularly on Zoom to discuss our communities and continue our friendship.
Lodging House Mission
Giffnock South have been proud supporters of The Lodging House Mission for many years. The Lodging House Mission provides a safe space and hot meals to those experiencing homelessness in Glasgow.
Several of our members volunteer at LHM weekly, and we gladly support all of the Lodging House Mission’s appeals.
We are pleased to have established a relationship with Carnwadric Parish Church Foodbank, you can donate tinned and dried goods at church. Donations are distributed weekly.
This year Giffnock South has chosen to champion the NSPCC as our church charity; we will host events and fundraisers throughout 2022 to support their wonderful work in the prevention of cruelty to children.
We are very proud of our Sunday school who walked 6km in aid of World Vision. The Sunday school chose to walk 6km as this is the average distance a child in the developing world walks to collect water each day.
The Sunday School raised an amazing sum of £650!
